A move into a new apartment almost never falls apart over the sofa. Thirty days is a calm horizon. Not a feat and not a scramble, but a sequence of short tasks. The plan below works for a new build and for a resale home. Days 22–28: Walk the Apartment as a Resident

Does the light come on from the entrance. Is there water. Where the bed will sit so the closet door still opens. Do the windows close tightly. If not — a request to the management company now, not at midnight after unloading.

Pack a first-evening box: kettle, mugs, soap, toilet paper, trash bags, a knife, chargers, a change of linens, a night light, regular medicines.
